A soft cream and ivory field sits at the centre of this rug, framed by a wide border of natural undyed brown wool. Both tones are the wool's own colour rather than dye — ivory from the pale fleece, soft brown from the darker — so the whole piece has the quiet, organic look of a true natural Gabbeh, with gentle horizontal striation running throughout.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from wool rich in lanolin, the pile is dense, soft underfoot, and naturally resistant to everyday wear. The neutral cream-and-brown palette is among the easiest of all to live with, and the subtle variation of the undyed wool marks it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Some of the most enduring Gabbehs use no dye at all, letting the natural colours of the fleece do the work. Here the weaver set a pale ivory field inside a darker brown border, both drawn straight from the sheep, so the only contrast is the wool's own range from cream to brown. The result is calm and timeless, and because hand-spun fleece is never perfectly uniform, the soft striations across the field are the fingerprint of a handmade piece, the trace of a single weaver rather than a machine.

Returns We accept returns within 7 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in their original condition. To start a return, contact our customer support. For a defective or incorrectly shipped item, we cover the return cost and arrange a replacement or refund. For returns due to personal preference such as size, colour, or a change of mind, return shipping is paid by the customer.
