Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A bright red field carrying two columns of Turkmen güls, each quartered diagonally into a pair of near-black quadrants and a pair of cream and gold ones, with a small dark lozenge at the centre. Running down the channel between the two columns is a strand of quite different devices — cruciform sprays with curling arms in cream and gold. Wide borders of star-güls in cream and gold frame the field down both sides, and both ends close with a panel of boxed star-güls above a dense diamond band. Cream fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in wool. Two design vocabularies run side by side here: the güls are strictly geometric, built from stepped right angles, while the devices between them curl. At 79×240cm this is a short runner, suited to a small hall or the foot of a bed. A bright red ground is among the most forgiving colours for a corridor, though the cream in the güls will show wear first.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted, with a natural fringe at both ends. Wool is resilient and forgiving underfoot, which makes this a practical choice for a hallway that gets real use.

A bright red ground is among the most forgiving colours a rug can have and hides everyday marks well. The cream is the vulnerable part — it appears in every gül and in the star-güls along both borders, and it is the first colour to grey. On a runner that wear concentrates along the centre line, which here falls in the channel between the two columns.

There are two quite different kinds of drawing on this field, and they take turns. The güls themselves are strictly geometric: every edge of the octagon is a stepped right angle, the quarters divide on straight diagonals, and the small lozenge at the centre is a rectangle with corners. Nothing in them curves. Now look at the strand running down the channel between the two columns — cruciform sprays whose arms curl over at the tips, with small leaf forms budding off the stem. Those are plant forms, and they are drawn with turns rather than steps.

It is worth noticing because the two systems are not mixed together: they are kept in separate lanes. The geometry occupies the two columns, the plant forms occupy the gap between them, and neither strays into the other's territory anywhere on the rug. A Turkmen gül is an inherited tribal emblem that a weaver would not alter; the filler between güls is where there was room to do something else, and here that room has been used for a completely different kind of ornament rather than for a smaller version of the same one.
