Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A camel field carrying a column of large Turkmen güls drawn in an unusual way — elongated and stepped rather than the rounded octagon of a Bokhara, and filled edge to edge with a fine diaper of dots and hooks rather than quartered. They alternate dark green and brown down the length, separated by bands of small rosettes, arrows and eight-point stars. The framing is the other distinguishing feature: eight or more narrow guard bands on each side, each with its own small repeating motif, so the borders occupy nearly as much width as the field.

Hand-knotted in wool at a fine gauge. The whole rug is drawn on the knot grid — every hook, arrow and stepped outline built from right angles, with no curve anywhere — and the fineness is what allows motifs this small to stay legible. The palette is restrained and largely natural: camel, dark green, brown, rose and black. At 180×244cm this is a room-sized rug for a sitting room or under a dining table, and the pale ground will lighten a dark room in a way the usual red Turkmen weaving cannot.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted at a fine gauge, with a natural fringe at both ends. Wool is resilient and forgiving underfoot, and a room-sized rug spreads wear over a large area rather than concentrating it.

The camel ground is paler than the red usually seen in Turkmen weaving and will show marks more readily, though the density of the drawing hides light soiling better than a plain field would. Use a rug pad, particularly under furniture legs, which will otherwise crush a fine pile.

A gül is a tribal emblem rather than a flower — the shape identified the weaver's people the way a tartan identifies a clan — and the version here is drawn very differently from the commercial Bokhara gül most people know. Instead of a rounded octagon quartered into four blocks of colour, these are elongated, stepped along their edges, and filled edge to edge with a fine diaper of dots and hooks. That fill is the part worth looking at closely: it is not a texture but hundreds of individually placed motifs, and holding it even across a panel this large is the real difficulty of the rug. Count the borders too. Most rugs carry a main border and two or three guard stripes; this one has eight or more narrow bands on each side, each with its own repeating motif, so the framing takes nearly as much width as the field itself. That is a deliberate inversion of the usual proportion, and it is why the rug reads as dense and formal rather than open.
