An ivory field carrying a continuous scrolling vine, hung with Shah Abbasi palmettes, serrated leaves and small rosettes so densely that almost no ground is left bare. At the centre sits a lobed rosette medallion in soft teal with a brick-red core, answered by four red spandrels at the corners — the standard way of telling the eye where the field begins and ends. A near-black main border of palmettes and flowering vine frames it, with a rose-red inner band and several hair-fine guard stripes between.
Hand-knotted in silk. The gauge is fine enough that the vine keeps its curve rather than breaking into steps, and the pile carries a directional sheen — seen from one end the ivory ground reads warm and creamy, from the other it cools towards pearl. Cream fringe at both ends. At 82×119cm this suits a bedside, a hallway or a spot beside a chair; the ivory ground is unforgiving of spills, so keep it away from where food and drink are handled.
