Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

Three ivory stepped-diamond medallions, each filled with a hooked star motif, march down a rich red field in this hand-knotted Pakistani Jaldar. Multiple ivory-and-black geometric borders frame the design, which descends from the tribal ‘Bokhara’ weaving of Central Asia. Compact and hard-wearing, it makes a characterful accent rug.

Pakistani rugs in the Bokhara and Jaldar tradition are hand-knotted from soft, durable wool, prized for their fine knotting and their deep, glowing colours. Worked entirely by hand, every medallion is drawn a little differently — the mark of a genuine hand-made piece.

  • Origin: Pakistan
  • Type: Pakistani Jaldar (Bokhara design), hand-knotted

Material: 100 percent hand-spun wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Jaldar is one of the most popular of the Pakistani ‘Bokhara’ designs — a bold, geometric pattern of stepped-diamond medallions filled with hooked star motifs, descended from the tribal weaving of Central Asia. This example sets three ivory medallions on a rich red field, framed by ivory-and-black geometric borders. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from soft wool and finished with a thick fringe, it is a hard-wearing, characterful piece.
