A rose red field carrying a long succession of large angular forms down its length: navy shield medallions with hooked arms, stepped hexagons, and pale serrated leaves set diagonally, each a narrow tapering body with a row of hooks along one edge and a curling tendril at the tail. Smaller crosses, rosettes and stepped boxes fill the ground between them in teal, ivory, apricot and navy. A cream main border of hooked motifs and rosettes frames the field, backed by narrow dogtooth and reciprocal guard bands. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. The palette is unusual for a red-ground rug of this kind: the accents run cool rather than warm, with teal and sage doing work that would normally go to gold or apricot. At 78×363cm this is a long runner, suited to a corridor or a broad landing. A mid-toned rose ground is reasonably forgiving of everyday marks, though the cream border will show traffic sooner.
