A slate blue field carrying three large medallions built like gateways: a pair of upright panels in cream and salmon flanking a dark blue centre panel, a stepped gable above them carrying a small finial, and a pendant hanging below. Every part is filled with a fine diamond diaper. Matching panels project inward from both field edges between the medallions. Wide multi-band borders of diamond diaper, rosettes and sawtooth in rose, cream, sage and navy frame the field, and a signature panel is woven into the outer border at the lower left. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. The medallions are architectural rather than abstract — uprights, a lintel, a gable and a finial — so the field reads as three gateways one behind another rather than three diamonds. The rug is also signed, with a small woven panel in the outer border. At 78×316cm this is a long runner, suited to a corridor or a hallway. A mid-toned slate blue ground is reasonably forgiving of everyday marks.
