A deep red field glows at the heart of this rug, crowned by an intricate star-rosette medallion worked in gold, cream, teal and navy. Around it, the red ground is packed with finely drawn scrolling vines, palmettes and blossoms in gold, salmon, ivory and green — a dense, jewel-like garden that rewards a closer look, with navy sub-medallions anchoring the field above and below the centre.

The composition is framed by a wide, deep-navy border, a stately procession of palmettes and flowering vine in cream, rose, gold and green that gives the rug its grand, formal presence. Ivory corner spandrels soften the navy and echo the medallion's pale tones, while slender guard stripes and a red outer edge complete the frame.
