Ruginza began in the summer of 1988, with a simple conviction that the world's finest handmade rugs deserved a home with people who would truly understand them.
Thirty-seven years later, that conviction still defines everything we do.
What We Are
Ruginza is the rug brand of Al Shams Corporation a company built in workshops, not boardrooms. Among master weavers whose craft has been refined over generations. In relationships that began decades ago and continue today.
Every rug in our collection has been personally selected. No algorithm, no trend report, no marketing committee. Only the eye of a team that has spent a lifetime learning what makes a rug worth keeping and the patience to wait for the right pieces to arrive.
That is what Ruginza is. That is the only thing it has ever been.
Where Our Rugs Come From
Pakistan is the heart of our sourcing. The weaving families we partner with there have created our Jaldar and Bokhara collections for over thirty years.
Iran is the birthplace of fine rug-making. Our Persian Silk, Nain, and Kilim collections come from master workshops in Qom, Isfahan, and Nain cities whose names have meant excellence for over 2,500 years.
Afghanistan has given us some of the most resilient artistry we have ever encountered. Our Afghan Gabbeh and Khan Muhammadi rugs honor traditions that have survived everything history has placed in their path.
Kashmir, high in the mountains, is where silk becomes something close to magic. Our Kashmiri Silk rugs are woven so finely they seem to change as you move past them.

Our Mission
To protect what the world is in danger of forgetting. A fine rug can take months. The finest can take years. In an age that measures everything in speed, that kind of time has become precious and we exist to keep it alive.
Our Promise
Every rug we sell is inspected three times at the workshop, on arrival, and again before shipping. We verify each origin, confirm each knot count, and refuse to list anything that does not meet our standards.
Our Craft
Every rug exists because of someone's skill, patience, and devotion. We work directly with master weavers whose families have practiced this craft for generations and we pay them fairly to keep that craft alive.
A Note From The Founder
When I started this company, I had one ambition to do this work properly. Not bigger than anyone else. Not faster. Just properly.
Thirty-seven years later, I am proud of what we have built. We have stayed small enough to care about every order. We have stayed honest enough to keep the same artisans for decades. And we have stayed close enough to the craft that I still personally select the rugs we sell.
