A soft silver-grey field is filled with neat rows of octagonal Bokhara güls in gold, black and ivory, each tied to the next by fine tracery and framed by layered gül-and-diamond borders. The muted grey ground gives this classic Turkmen-inspired design a calm, contemporary feel that settles easily into a modern room.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan from 100% hand-spun wool on a cotton foundation, its dense, even pile is the hallmark of fine Bokhara weaving. The wool's natural lanolin lends a quiet sheen and lasting durability, and small variations in the hand-dyed tones mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The Bokhara takes its name from the Central Asian trading city through which Turkmen tribal rugs once reached the world. Its signature is the gul — a repeating octagonal motif, originally a tribal emblem — marching in disciplined rows across the field. Woven here in Pakistan on a calm silver-grey ground, the design trades the usual deep red for a cooler, more contemporary palette while keeping the precise knotting and timeless rhythm that have made Bokhara rugs a collector's favourite for generations.
