A dramatic zebra-stripe of terracotta rust and golden beige radiates from the centre of the rug, drawing the eye inward and anchoring the room. Each stripe carries the living irregularity of the hand, an energy no printed rug can imitate.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from dense hand-spun wool, it is deeply cushioned and built for daily life. Terracotta is among the most sought-after tones in interiors today, earthy and warm yet full of movement — a true centrepiece, and entirely one of a kind.

  • Origin: Afghanistan
  • Type: Afghan Gabbeh, hand-knotted
  • Material: 100% wool
  • Size: 137×197cm
  • Colour: Terracotta rust
  • SKU: NG 31752

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The design is built on movement: a bold zebra-stripe of terracotta rust and golden beige radiating from the centre of the rug, drawing the eye inward. Hand-knotting gives each stripe a slight, living irregularity that printed or machine-made rugs cannot match. Terracotta is one of the most celebrated tones in interiors today, earthy and warm yet full of energy. Small variations in colour and weave throughout are the signature of genuine hand-knotting, the mark of a single weaver and a one-of-a-kind piece.
