A warm golden-camel field carries an all-over Oushak-style design of linked medallions and palmettes, each centred with an eight-point star or stylised bloom. The motifs are drawn in soft teal-green and sage and outlined in bright golden-yellow, with cream highlights catching the light — a decorative, traditional pattern that fills the whole rug edge to edge.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun wool rich in lanolin, it is dense, soft underfoot, and naturally resistant to everyday wear. The warm gold ground with cool green accents is a versatile, elegant combination, and the small irregularities of the weave mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

  • Origin: Afghanistan
  • Type: Afghan Gabbeh, hand-knotted
  • Material: 100% wool
  • Size: 63×90cm
  • Colour: Golden camel with teal-green
  • SKU: NG 73147

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

This piece trades the plain tribal field for a decorative, Oushak-inspired pattern: rows of linked medallions and palmettes spread across a warm golden ground, each filled with star and floral motifs. The cool teal-green and sage of the design play against the gold for a soft, antique-feeling palette, while the bright yellow outlines keep it lively. Hand-knotted from naturally dyed wool, its gentle irregularities of colour and drawing are the mark of a genuine handmade rug, the trace of a single weaver rather than a machine.
