Broad horizontal bands of sage-green, rust-orange, sand and soft brown run the length of this hand-knotted Ghazni, each stripe a different natural dye lot so the colours glow with gentle abrash. Two clear orange lines punctuate the calmer greens and creams, giving the piece a warm, earthy rhythm that feels at once folk and modern. It is an easy, characterful rug that brings colour without busyness.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun wool rich in lanolin, the pile is dense and soft underfoot and naturally resistant to everyday wear. Every band is a separate hand-dyed batch of wool, so the colours shift softly along their length — the mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made rug.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

This is a striped Gabbeh in a soft, earthy key. Broad horizontal bands in sage, sand, brown and cream are interrupted by two glowing lines of rust-orange, each band woven from its own hand-dyed batch of wool. Knotted by hand in Afghanistan, the stripes vary slightly in width and the colours drift gently along their length — the relaxed, unrepeatable rhythm of a single weaver working without a fixed pattern.
