Elegant and intricate, this rug spreads a glowing all-over garden across a deep black ground. There is no formal medallion — only a faint central rosette amid a continuous web of scrolling vines, palmettes, and blossoms in soft gold, sage, rust, and ivory. The dark field throws the warm gold tracery forward, so the whole surface seems to shimmer.

A broad soft-gold border of leafy vines and palmettes frames the field, finished with fine guard stripes — luminous against the black centre. Gold is the rug’s true keynote: it fills the border and threads through every flower and vine, while the black ground gives the design depth and drama.
