A warm amber-gold ground glows beneath an all-over Persian garden of palmettes, blossoms and scrolling vines, drawn in soft slate-blue, cream and tan. Silk woven through the wool makes the gold shimmer and the pale tracery shine, so the whole rug seems lit from within.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun wool and silk, the rug reinterprets a classical Sultanabad floral in a soft, sunlit palette. Naturally dyed and tied knot by knot, its gentle colour shifts are the signature of a single weaver and a true one-of-a-kind, a richly elegant foundation made to last a lifetime.
