Bold horizontal bands run the length of this rug, a tribal stripe in the classic Gabbeh manner. The palette moves through camel and tan, olive green, soft denim blue, deep red and rust, black and warm chocolate brown, each band slightly uneven and hand-graded so the colours shift and breathe across the field. There is no border — just pure, rhythmic colour.
Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun wool rich in lanolin, it is dense, soft underfoot, and naturally resistant to everyday wear. The lively, multicoloured stripe is an easy way to bring warmth and personality to a small space, and the small irregularities of the weave mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Care instructions
- Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
- Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
- Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
- Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.
Gabbeh takes its name from a Persian word meaning raw or natural, a nod to the honest, tribal character of these weavings. The simple horizontal stripe is one of the oldest Gabbeh ideas, a chance for the weaver to celebrate every colour in the wool basket. Here camel, olive, blue, red and brown stack into a warm, lively band of colour with no border to contain it, the slight unevenness of each stripe showing the hand of the maker. Small variations in colour and weave are the mark of a genuine handmade rug, the trace of a single weaver rather than a machine.
