A deep, glowing crimson fills this hand-knotted Ghazni from edge to edge, its madder-red field shifting in soft bands of abrash where the natural dye lots change. With no pattern or border to distract, the rug is pure, saturated colour — scarlet in bright light, deepening to wine in shade — the kind of bold, warm red that anchors a whole room.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun Ghazni highland wool that is naturally rich in lanolin, the pile is dense, soft underfoot and hard-wearing. Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.
