A vivid violet-purple field carries a faded all-over floral in this hand-knotted rug, its palmettes, vines and blossoms drawn in soft magenta, lilac and dusky rose. The overdyed, washed finish gives the traditional Oriental pattern a bold, contemporary jewel-tone glow — saturated purple at a glance, with the intricate botanical detail surfacing as you look closer, all framed by a matching floral border.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from a blend of hand-spun wool and lustrous silk (80% wool, 20% silk), the pile is dense and soft, and the silk highlights lift the pattern so it shifts as you move. Coloured with natural dyes and knotted entirely by hand, the gentle abrash and slight irregularities mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Material: 80 percent hand-spun Afghan wool and 20 percent silk. The wool is naturally rich in lanolin for softness and easy care, while the silk adds a subtle sheen and depth of colour.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • For silk-blend rugs, use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.
