A deep green field is covered with a graceful all-over design of palmettes, lotus blossoms and scrolling vines — worked in cream, coral, blue and soft green — in this hand-knotted Ghazni, in the elegant Chobi (Ziegler) manner. A wide ivory border of leafy palmettes and rosettes, flanked by fine floral guard stripes, frames the field. The soft, vegetable-dyed palette gives it a calm, understated elegance.
Hand-knotted in the highlands of Afghanistan from soft, hand-spun wool, the pile is dense and hard-wearing with a gentle sheen. Coloured with natural dyes and worked entirely by hand, the tones glow with soft abrash and every blossom is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.
