A soft ivory ground, left open and luminous, is framed by two bands of small diamond lattice in caramel, rust and dark chocolate brown, each diamond finished with tiny hooked edges. A border of little outlined squares — brown, tan and rust, each cradling a single dot — runs right around the rug, giving a calm, graphic frame to the quiet centre.

Hand-knotted in India from hand-spun wool rich in lanolin, it is dense, soft underfoot, and naturally resistant to everyday wear. The pale, versatile palette suits both traditional and modern interiors, and the small irregularities of the weave mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Loribaft rugs take their name from the Lori weavers and a tradition of simple, soulful tribal design, here hand-knotted in India in the Gabbeh manner. This piece keeps things pared back: an open ivory field crossed by two bands of small hooked diamonds and wrapped in a border of dotted squares, all worked in warm caramel and brown. The restraint is deliberate, the empty cream ground giving the eye room to rest while the geometric accents carry the tribal rhythm. Small variations in colour and weave are the mark of a genuine handmade rug, the trace of a single weaver rather than a machine.
