Care instructions

• Vacuum gently on low suction without a rotating brush.
• Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
• Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colours and the silk sheen.
• Use a professional rug cleaner experienced with silk for any deep clean; do not machine wash.
• Light shedding is normal at first and settles within the first few months.

The Gabbeh is the most pastoral of Afghan rugs — traditionally woven by nomadic families with a thick pile and a free, improvised use of colour. This multicoloured example keeps that spontaneous, tribal spirit, lifted by a silk highlight that catches the light across its softly abrashed field.
