Rows of small Turkmen güls rest on a soft antique-cream field, each octagonal medallion drawn in faded rust, gold and sage and linked by rows of tiny stepped diamonds. The gentle, sun-washed palette gives this large Bokhara a calm, vintage character.

A run of many narrow guard borders in rust, gold and sage — diamonds, hooked motifs and a scalloped medallion band — frames the field, closing at each end into banded panels of latch-hook lattice. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and closely clipped, giving crisp definition to every gül and border. Coloured with soft, natural-looking dyes and worked entirely by hand, the cream ground carries a gentle abrash, and every medallion is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The Bokhara takes its name from the Central Asian city of Bukhara, where Turkmen weavers set their fields with rows of güls — quartered octagonal medallions. This large piece is worked in a soft, antique-washed palette of rust, gold and sage on a cream ground, giving the classic design a gentle, vintage feel. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every medallion is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.

Returns We accept returns within 7 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in their original condition. To start a return, contact our customer support. For a defective or incorrectly shipped item, we cover the return cost and arrange a replacement or refund. For returns due to personal preference such as size, colour, or a change of mind, return shipping is paid by the customer.
