Three columns of Turkmen güls glow across a deep oxblood-red field, each octagonal medallion quartered in cream, rust and black and linked by rows of small starry motifs. The rich, dark red ground and fine, high-quality knotting give this Bokhara a jewel-like depth.
A run of many narrow guard borders in cream, rust and indigo — diamonds, hooked motifs and a banded gül border — frames the field, closing at the base into a kilim-flatweave panel. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, high-quality hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and closely clipped, giving crisp definition to every gül and border. Coloured with rich, natural-looking dyes and worked entirely by hand, the deep red glows with a gentle abrash, and every medallion is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.
