Dense rows of small Turkmen güls cover a soft slate-grey field, each octagonal medallion quartered in black, navy and cream and linked by rows of tiny stepped diamonds. The cool, silvery ground gives this large Bokhara a calm, contemporary feel while keeping its traditional tribal structure.
A run of many narrow guard borders in grey, black and ivory — diamonds, hooked motifs and a scalloped medallion band — frames the field, closing at each end into banded panels of latch-hook lattice. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and closely clipped, giving crisp definition to every gül and border. Coloured with soft, natural-looking dyes and worked entirely by hand, the grey ground carries a gentle abrash, and every medallion is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.
