Closely spaced rows of Turkmen güls in charcoal and warm gold march across a soft warm-sand field, each octagonal medallion framed by delicate cross and diamond fillers. The dense, finely drawn field gives this Bokhara a quiet, antique character that suits warm and neutral interiors alike.

A generous run of narrow guard borders in charcoal, gold and cream — rosettes, stars, diamonds and hooked bands — wraps the field on every side, ending in a broad panelled outer band. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and closely clipped, giving crisp definition to every gül and border line. Worked entirely by hand with warm, natural-looking dyes, the sandy ground carries a gentle abrash and each medallion is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Named for the Silk Road city of Bukhara, the Bokhara sets its field with disciplined rows of güls — quartered octagonal medallions. This piece works them densely in charcoal and gold across a soft warm-sand ground, a restrained, almost antique reading of the classic. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every medallion is drawn by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind rug.
