Three columns of stepped-diamond güls run the length of a deep madder-red field, each hexagonal medallion centred with a cream and salmon diamond and outlined in black. Slim linking motifs sit between the rows, giving this large Jaldar a dense, orderly all-over repeat.

A broad multi-band border in camel, ivory and black — fine diamonds, running motifs and a barber-pole guard — frames the field on every side, closing at each end into kilim-flatweave panels. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and closely clipped, giving crisp definition to every gül and border. Coloured with rich, natural-looking dyes and worked entirely by hand, the deep red glows with a gentle abrash, and every medallion is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.

  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The Jaldar carries the old Turkmen gül tradition into large-format Pakistani weaving, its field filled edge to edge with tidy rows of stepped diamonds. Here they climb a deep madder-red ground in cream and salmon, framed by broad camel and ivory borders and finished with kilim panels at each end. Finely hand-knotted from natural-dyed highland wool, every gül is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
