Three columns of stepped-diamond güls run the length of a soft moss-green field, drawn in camel, salmon, ivory and black with slim linking motifs set between the rows. The muted olive-green ground — unusual for a Jaldar — gives this large rug a calm, earthy character.

A run of guard borders in camel, green and black — fine diamonds, hooked motifs and a diamond-lattice main band — frames the field on every side. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is closely clipped and finely knotted, giving crisp definition to every diamond and border. Coloured with soft, natural-looking dyes and worked entirely by hand, the green field carries a gentle abrash, and every gül is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The Jaldar carries the old Turkmen gül tradition into large-format Pakistani weaving, its field filled with tidy columns of stepped diamonds. This one is woven on a soft moss-green ground rather than the usual red, the diamonds picked out in camel, salmon and ivory and framed by camel guard borders. Finely hand-knotted from natural-dyed highland wool, every gül is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
