Three bold stepped-star medallions in gold, rust and ivory run down a soft stone-grey field, surrounded by a scatter of tribal motifs — hooked diamonds, stylised animals, combs and blossoms. The cool grey ground sets off the warm golden medallions, giving this Jaldar a striking, tribal character.

A broad golden border of hooked diamonds and star medallions, flanked by fine guard stripes and a zigzag outer band, frames the field. Hand-knotted in Pakistan from fine, hand-spun wool with an added measure of silk, the pile is closely clipped for crisp definition, and the silk lends the gold and rust tones a soft, shifting sheen. Every motif is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 80 percent hand-spun Afghan wool and 20 percent silk. The wool is naturally rich in lanolin for softness and easy care, while the silk adds a subtle sheen and depth of colour.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • For silk-blend rugs, use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

This Jaldar departs from the usual rows of small güls, instead carrying three bold Caucasian-style star medallions down a cool grey field, scattered with tribal animals, combs and blossoms. Finely hand-knotted in Pakistan from wool blended with silk, the golden medallions catch the light against the grey ground. Every motif is worked by hand — no two quite alike, the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
