A deep red field is scattered with an all-over array of tribal motifs — gold star medallions, hooked diamonds, güls and cross figures in green, blue, gold and cream — in this hand-knotted Kazak. A wide gold border of latch-hooks and güls, flanked by navy and cream guard stripes, frames the busy ground. It has the generous, polychrome colour of a classic Caucasian village weave.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun highland wool, the pile is thick, lustrous and hard-wearing. The colours are drawn from natural dyes, so the red glows with abrash and every motif is drawn slightly differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The Kazak is one of the boldest of tribal weaves, descended from the mountain villages of the Caucasus, favouring large, clear motifs on saturated grounds. Here a deep red field is scattered with an all-over array of gold star medallions, diamonds, güls and cross motifs in green, blue and cream, framed by a wide gold border of latch-hooks and güls. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every motif is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.

Returns We accept returns within 7 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in their original condition. To start a return, contact our customer support. For a defective or incorrectly shipped item, we cover the return cost and arrange a replacement or refund. For returns due to personal preference such as size, colour, or a change of mind, return shipping is paid by the customer.
