Care instructions

• Always use a rug pad underneath — a flatweave slips easily without one.
• Vacuum gently with the beater bar off, working along the bands rather than across them.
• Turn the kilim over every year — it is reversible and wears evenly if used both sides.
• Blot spills immediately, working from the outside in.
• Have the kilim professionally cleaned when needed — never machine wash.

There is no field and no border here in the usual sense — the whole rug is bands, running edge to edge, growing narrower and finer towards the centre. That is simply how a kilim is made: the weaver works upward row by row and the pattern accumulates as the cloth grows, so the design is the structure rather than something applied to it. The four broader gold bands set at intervals down the centre give the eye something to measure the rhythm against, and the caramel ground holds a palette of rust, indigo and cream that would look busy on anything paler. Thin, light and reversible, it suits a wall or a layer over a larger rug as readily as the floor.
