Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A deep red field is filled with an array of tribal güls — a gold octagonal medallion at the centre, ringed by orange, green and navy star-güls, cross-flowers and serrated leaves — in this hand-knotted Kazak. A wide gold border of palmettes and rosettes, flanked by green guard stripes, frames the glowing ground. It has the clear, powerful drawing that makes Kazak rugs instantly recognisable.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun highland wool, the pile is thick, lustrous and hard-wearing. The colours are drawn from natural dyes, so the red glows with abrash and every motif is drawn slightly differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

  • Origin: Afghanistan
  • Type: Kazak, hand-knotted
  • Material: 100% wool
  • Size: 125×179cm (Small)

  • SKU: RK 11710
  • One-of-a-kind: yes

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The Kazak is one of the boldest of tribal weaves, descended from the mountain villages of the Caucasus, favouring large, clear medallions on saturated grounds. Here a deep red field carries a central gold gül medallion flanked by orange and green star-güls, small cross-flowers and serrated leaves, framed by a gold border of palmettes and rosettes. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every motif is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
