Care instructions

• Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
• Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
• Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
• Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
• Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

A plain field leaves nowhere to hide, so everything depends on the wool. Here the weaver blended dyed lilac with paler natural fibres as the rug was spun and knotted, so the colour reads as a soft heather rather than a flat block — lighter and darker threads catching the light across the surface. Because hand-spun, naturally dyed wool is never uniform, that gentle cloudiness is the fingerprint of a handmade piece, the trace of a single weaver rather than a machine.
