A warm wheat-gold field fills this rug with the quiet depth of natural hand-spun wool, its surface broken only by soft horizontal striation and scattered rows of small rust and terracotta flecks. The little coral dots drift across the gold like seeds across a field — a minimal, tribal touch on an otherwise plain ground.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from wool rich in lanolin, the pile is dense, soft underfoot, and naturally resistant to everyday wear. The understated wheat-gold tone makes it endlessly easy to place, and the gentle irregularity of colour and fleck marks it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

  • Origin: Afghanistan

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

On a plain Gabbeh field the smallest gesture carries weight. Here the weaver kept the ground a calm wheat-gold and added only a scattering of rust flecks in loose rows — just enough rhythm to animate the surface without breaking its calm. Because the wool is hand-spun and naturally dyed, the gold shifts subtly across the rug and no two flecks sit quite alike; those small irregularities are the fingerprint of a handmade piece, the trace of a single weaver rather than a machine.
